Status of the Game-June, 2018

Brawl Stars has had a rough time the soft launch on iOS in the Canadian App Store last year. At first, the hype for the game was massive, but a mere month after the release, the hype died down and the game became stagnant, causing many players like me to take a hiatus until Supercell fixed their game, and that day has come.
Last month we got a massive update introducing new brawlers, reworked heist, and nearly every major change the game needed. Heist now has 2 safes, making it a more bearable gamemode. It’s still not my favorite, but Heist is now in my personal rotation more often ever since I started playing again.
The most important thing to take away from this update is that Supercell gave us what we asked for. I specifically suggested 2 safes in Heist a while before the update and Supercell delivered. This is a good sign, and I don’t think that the community will forget about this update for a while.
There have been some bad changes to this update as well though. The devs removed different control presets from the options menu, so now everyone is forced to use, (in my opinion) the worst controls possible. Compared to our old options we don’t have as many choices and the community is having trouble adapting. Some have suggested it’s just a matter of time, but I don’t believe that’s the case.
People have been playing this game for over a year now, changing the controls like this with no option to revert to the old control layouts, while definitely drive some players away. There may be very few players who would stop playing a game they love because of controls, but in a beta game, 1 player is way too important to give up.
In summary, while this update is what the community needed, the needs of the individual player were neglected, I love the changes in this update, but the lack of options is a handicap for any game on the App Store.
Keep an eye out for more detailed posts on new brawlers and more miscellaneous nonsense about the newest update.
